Case against unknown persons for theft of jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh
Indore:
The woman identified as Ruchika Gangwal, resident of flat number 403 in Yash Elite building on Yeshwant Niwas Road, told police that she had called an electrician to get the invertor installed in her bedroom.
“Ashok, a local electrician, who usually works for the building residents, came to repair the light and install the invertor line in my bedroom around 2:30 pm. He worked in the room for over 30 minutes while I was sitting in the living room,” said Gangwal while giving her statement to Tukoganj police.
She added that the almirah was locked and she did not pay attention as she trusted the man. After a few days when Ruchika was going through her jewellery boxes, she found that her diamond and gold bracelets and bangles were missing from them.
“On December 14, I learnt that the jewellery was missing. Diamond and gold jewellery including ear rings, bracelet, bangles etc worth Rs 6 lakh were stolen,” she said.
Ruchika informed her family members and neighbours and approached Tukoganj police. “While the woman suspects the electrician Ashok, son of Hari Bhau Kamle, resident of Niranjanpur, to be behind the crime, we are looking into all the angles in the case,” said Rajkumar Yadav, Tukoganj police station in-charge while speaking to media persons.
