Indore: A teacher died after sustaining severe burns from water spilt from the radiator of a bus on which she was travelling. The woman brought to Indore for treatment from Ratlam, succumbed to her injuries here on Sunday morning. The incident took place on June 6 when Mamta Soni, the resident of Sailana of Ratlam and teacher in a local school, was travelling back after invigilating BA first year exam. "She was sitting near the driver on the gear box when he opened the radiator and started the vehicle. The entire hot water in the radiator came out charring Mamta and five others," said Ratlam police.

Mamta was immediately taken to the hospital by the locals from where she was referred to MY hospital in Indore.

"Mamta had received severe burns and she was admitted to the ICU for the past one week. She succumbed to the injuries on Sunday," said MY hospital authorities. Mamta, who was a single parent, is survived by two children. She used to work as a teacher in Saraswati Shishu Mandir and also take tuitions to sustain her family. She had divorced her husband ten years ago and started living with her family in Sailana.
