Tarang only a pawn, search for kingpin on: Dilip Soni

INDORE: The accused arrested on Saturday for running a parallel inter-state impersonation racket in MP pre-medical test (MPPMT) has revealed that he used to take only 20% of the share in a deal and used to target such prospective candidates who failed in the examination and belonged to rich families.
“This is a parallel gang running to the racket run by Dr Jagdish Sagar.We are investigating whether these two gangs have any link up to any big fish. The accused Tarang Sharma used to contact such candidates who can pay well and had failed in the pre-medical examination. Tarang is just pawn of this gang. We are searching for the racket’s kingpin,” additional SP (crime) Dilip Soni said on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the police, on Sunday, opened another locker belonging to accused Jagdish Sagar and his wife. The locker was held by him in IDBI Bank’s Vijay Nagar branch. The locker was non-operational since two years. Sagar had taken loan from the bank for his Mercedes car.
Sagar will be presented before the court on Monday for judicial remand. According to the sources, he used to threaten candidates with pistols that police have seized from his residence who could not pay the full amount for his work.
The crime branch is also delving into the role of Uttar Pradesh-based coaching classes in getting candidates admitted into medical colleges through fraudulent means. A team is in UP for the probe.
On Saturday, police arrested Tarang Sharma who worked as a travel operator in Bhopal. The youth is related to a bureaucrat and was running the racket independent of Sagar. 32-year-old, Tarang, a resident of Chuna Bhatti area in Bhopal was working as a key player of the racket who served as a link between the racket operators and the officials of the MPPEB.
