The protest continued for over two hours following which the college director met the students to hear their issues.

Shivani Chauhan, a student, said there had not been a single placement at a reputed firm through the college in the past two years that they were in college. They claimed claimed there were no quality placements in the last seven years.

“The students are promised placements during admissions but at the time of placements college authorities call local advisory companies for placements, many of which are blacklisted,” said

Nayan Dubey

, a protester from ABVP.

The students also complained of having no placement officer despite being charged Rs 1000 in the third and fourth semesters as placement fees.

“The college should get industries for campus placements. It will at least serve as a platform. If we fail to get selected, it will be our look out,” another student said.

However, =college authorities said students had some confusion over placement fees.

“Students had some miscommunication regarding the placement fees. We charge the placement fee according to state government norms. We have spoken to students and cleared their doubts,” said

Rajeev Shukla

, director of the college.

“Students take admissions expecting we should get them jobs. Placements are additional facilities. Our aim is to equip students with proper knowledge. However, it’s not like placements are not happening but students had complaints about the quality of placements that we will try to work on,” he added.
