Stones pelted at admn team removing encroachment

Indore: Indore district administration on Wednesday demolished encroachment over a private property after the occupants, who had made illegal possession over the plot, lost the case in tehsil office. During the drive, the occupants registered protest while some of them allegedly pelted stones on anti-encroachment teams.“There was a 2,400 square feet plot of a person, who had approached district administration for removal of encroachment from his property situated in Professor Colony. The applicant won the case. So, the encroachers were issued notice to remove their illegal possession but to no avail. Subsequently, the administration, with help of Indore Municipal Corporation and local police, reached the spot on Wednesday morning and demolished illegally erected huts and other encroachments from the spot,” SDM Ghanshyam Dhangar said. Some affected persons also started protesting by staging ‘chakka jam’ (road blockade) that the police ended by dispersing the agitators,” the SDM said adding that during this, some of the protesters pelted stones, but no one reported being hurt in it.“We have videos of the protest and we are trying to identify those who took the law into their hands to decide further course of action against them,” Dhangar said.
