services to remain affected on Friday as radiologists are yet to find an amicable solution to their problems. Until late evening, radiologists had long discussions with government officials in New Delhi to reach an amicable solution to end the deadlock.

secretary of radiologists association, Dr. Durgesh Rathi said, “Ultrasound machines operation will remain shut till any solution is reached whereas CT-MRI work will remain unaffected. 95% of the convictions under the PCPNDT Act were a result of clerical errors while only 5 per cent were a result of non-qualified doctors using unregistered machines to mint money.”
Meanwhile, patients requiring ultrasound diagnostic services had a tough time as radiologists demanding amendment in the sections of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act went on a strike on Thursday to support nationwide call.

Radiologists went on a strike to voice their opposition to wrongful action on the majority of doctors on charges of pre-natal sex determination, while the reason behind the discrepancies, according to them, was clerical errors.
“We have time and again appealed the government to amend the Act to remove provisions, which have been used to harass even honest doctors,” said Dr. R K Sodani, president, IMA Indore.
