SKY: Pithampur & Dewas generate 50% vacancy on portal
Indore: Skills to operate advanced machines, technicians, fitters and drone operators are the most in demand job roles sought by industries of Madhya Pradesh looking to hire candidates under the Mukhyamantri Seekho Kamao Yojana.Under the scheme, more than 15,000 contracts were signed by industries across the state. Close to 5000 candidates have started working under the scheme till date, according to data from the state’s skill development department.More than 50% of the vacancy generated so far on the portal is from industries of Pithampur and Dewas. Directorate skill development additional director and additional CEO GN Agrawal said, “Industries are looking for skilled candidates with knowledge of advanced machines, techniques and skills. Around 4800 candidates have already started the on-job training with industries, while others are in the process of accepting the job roles.” More than 8.94 lakh youths and 18,195 establishments have registered under the scheme, while published vacancy by these units are 72,679, according to the latest data compiled by the department.Amit Rastogi, an industrialist from Pithampur said, “There are many jobs but the challenge is to get skilled manpower. Industries need skilled and semi-skilled workforce to operate. Fulfilling the requirement is a tough task due to lack of skilled people.”The on-job training of youth in the age group of 18 to 29 years have commenced from September 1.Looking at the high number of registered candidates, nodal skill development department is eyeing to engage more industries in MP and other states. The department has also roped in six power companies. Agrawal said, “We are in talks with more industries because registered candidates are very high. We have roped in central PSUs also and more than 1000 candidates have started working with discoms of the state.”
