Seven passenger trains in Indore to be back on tracks from today

INDORE: Railways would resume operation of seven passenger trains connecting major cities of the country with

from Sunday.

said that Western Railway was resuming operation of 32 trains and of these, seven trains would be restarted from Indore from Sunday. After drop in Covid-19 cases and unlocking of commercial activities, railway authorities had already restarted operation of Indore-Jabalpur, Indore-Gwalior, and Indore-Jaipur trains.

According to Jayant, Western Railway also resumed operation of

Kisan Rail

(00973/00974), which transports agricultural produce of local farmers to Jorhat in Assam, from Saturday. “The Kisan Rail would reach Jorhat at 5am on Tuesday. Mainly onion and garlic are transported from Indore to Jorhat,” Jayant said.

The Western Railway had on November 24, last year started its first Kisan Rail from Indore, which had left for New Guwahati railway station and carried 180 tonne of onions.
