MP school takes back expelled girls after CM’s intervention

DHAR: Expulsion of two girls by a school in Dhar after some dispute between their parents and teacher came down hard on its administration as the students wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They also sent copies of the letter to chief minister Kamal Nath and Governor Lalji Tandon.


Taking cognizance of the issue, chief minister Nath asked officials concerned to ensure re-admission of the students – Anushka (13) and Anvisha (10) - and action against the school administration. The duo was students of Eminent Public School. While Anushka was studying in Class 8, Anvisha was a student of Class 5.

On August 14, the school management had called their parents for a meeting. During the meeting, the parents had an argument with a teacher. Subsequently, the school administration issued transfer certificates to both the girls. Parents of the girls received the certificates at their house through a courier service on August 15.

“I tried to meet principal Dr P Bhuvanendran in the school. But he was not ready to give any clarification. So, my daughters decided to write a letter to PM Modi, father of the girls Saroj Khadka told TOI.

Saroj received a call from the office of district education officer on Tuesday. He was asked to reach the school for re-admission of his daughters.

“A five-member team was constituted to look into the matter and a notice was also issued to the school. The school has been warned not to repeat this act in future, else its affiliation will be cancelled with immediate effect, Dhar collector Shrikant Banoth told TOI.
