Ujjain: Seven children hurt as school bus overturns

Ujjain: Seven students were

injured

when the school bus ferrying them overturned in Narvar area of Ujjain on Thursday morning. The condition of injured was stated to be stable.

Narvar police station in charge Vikram Singh told TOI that the accident took place on Dewas Road when bus of Vidyasagar School was on its way to the school from Haranyakhedi. The driver of the bus allegedly lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road before it fell in a ditch.

The passersby rushed to the spot to rescue the

children

and took them to hospital. Of the seven students, four were admitted at the hospital, whereas three were discharged after initial treatment. Students of Class V, Hunny Singh, Gaurav, Vandana and Rizwan sustained severe injuries.

Police said that a case was registered against the bus driver, Pankaj Sharma, and he was booked under relevant sections of the IPC. He told police that the steering wheel got locked because of which the accident took place.
