INDORE: Two groups clashed after a dispute over sarpanch election in Dewas. The accused from both the groups attacked one another with swords and knives.

Several persons from both the groups were injured in the incident and were admitted in district hospital for treatment. Some were discharged after preliminary treatment. An injured, Shankar Chouhan, said that the incident was reported in Singavada village near Sai restaurant on Friday night over waving hands at one another. The fight escalated to an extent that both the groups attacked one another with sharp-edged weapons.

On the complaint of one Sushil, Civil Lines police have registered a case against Shivnaraan, Hindu Singh, Bharat, Lakhan, Mahendra, Sandeep Rakesh and Radheshyam, all residents of Singavada.

Also, on complaint of Sandeep Chouhan, a case was registered against Dinesh, Ramnivas, Lakhan, Jitendra, Rajesh, Ravi, Sushil and Shankar. tnn
