INDORE: Family members of a patient created a ruckus at a private hospital on Saturday morning alleging negligence leading to his death and lack of proper communication from hospital administration during treatment.
The police were called in to gain control over the situation, police said.
The deceased was identified as Dinesh Upadhyaya, 45. Upadhyaya had a mild heart attack on August 2, when he was in Mhow.
He was rushed to a hospital, where after primary treatment his situation stabilised, patients nephew Shashank Upadhyay said.
He was then taken to ESIC hospital as he had insurance. The doctors there referred him to Medanta hospital. The patient then underwent a surgery, he said.
The police team took an application from family members and assured them of actions, Shashank said adding the body was handed over and taken to Rewa, their home place.
Medanta MD Dr
Sanjeev Srivastava denied allegation of negligence and said, “The patient had been recovering post-surgery, when he had developed signs of liver failure. He later had kidney failure and was put on dialysis.”
