INDORE: With heavy rains lashing the city on Saturday afternoon, waterlogging was reported from many localities, including Chhapan Dukan, Palasia, Sukhlia, Patnipura, Malwa Mill, Dawa Baazar, Anupurna, Sanjana Park and Sapana Sangita. With the weather office predicting more rainfall in the coming days, more trouble is in store for the residents. Priyanka Rai, public relations officer at Swami Vevikanand Institute, said that though the monsoon is normal this season, lack of proper drainage system is the main reason for waterlogging.
Some blamed the IMC for lack of preparedness to deal with heavy rains. Mukesh Sharma, an IT professional, said that if a few hours of rain can create problem on roads, what will happen if rains continue for days? Chhaya Chourey, resident of Sukhlia, said that the heavy rains have converted her locality into a lake. "I always fear to drive on waterlogged roads, as there are a number of potholes," she added.
