Proposal sent for drafting layout of new industrial area in Khandwa village

Indore: District Industries Trade Centre (DITC) at Khandwa has sent a proposal to National Small Industries Corporation Limited for drafting layout of a new industrial area in Surgaon Nipani village. The department has identified around 40 hectare in Surgaon Nipani village and planning to develop a new industrial area for micro and small scale industries. An official from DITC, wishing anonymity said, “We have sent a proposal to National Small Industries Corporation Limited for preparing layout of a new industrial area. Survey and demarcation of land has been done and we are awaiting the draft from the corporation to take the work forward.” The new industrial area may attract investment from more than 200 micro and small industries mostly from in and around Khandwa, according to DITC.“Industries have started making enquiries and many of them have sent proposals for setting up facilities. We are hoping around 200-300 industries to come up in the new industrial area,” said the official.The department is contemplating offering 5000 and 10,000 sq ft plots to industries and plans to assess requirements of local industries. Micro, small and medium enterprises department is working on adding undeveloped land in the region to offer to industries and is looking to identify land parcels in every district for industrial use. Industries of Khandwa have sent investment proposals to DITC for the upcoming industrial area though many local industries have demanded better infrastructure and road connectivity to the industrial area. More than 40 industries operate in the existing industrial area spread across 10 hectare and located near Indore Road.
