Prepared to deal with Covid surge: Officials

The district administration in Indore is well prepared to deal with a probable fourth wave of coronavirus, officials said. There are 15 government hospitals and as many as 111 private hospitals in the district, with a total 10125 beds including isolation ICUs and other beds. Adm. Abhay Bedekar said that the district has all the equipment required to deal with coronavirus, including 45 oxygen plants in working condition, 149 oxygen concentrators, and 10 teams of sample collectors. The health department has doses of coronavirus vaccine, and a demand for coronavirus shields has been placed.

“There are a total 45 oxygen plants in working condition in local hospitals along with a total 149 oxygen concentrators” he said adding that all the required medicines are available at CMHO store. “As many as 10 teams have been formed for sample collections while a process to form as many teams of Aurobindo and Index Hospital was on,” he said adding that the health department has Covaxin doses while a demand of Covidshield has been placed.
