INDORE: Timely investigations has helped Indore police crime branch staff to figure out the mastermind of the MPPMT impersonation racket. The alleged mastermind of the racket is Dr Jagdish Sagar.
Interrogations of the 20 youths arrested on Saturday night led to Sagar's name cropping up as the mastermind of the racket, Additional SP (crime) Dilip Soni told TOI.
In his 40s, the accused was till recently living in Scheme 94, near Bombay Hospital in Indore. He is father of two kids and has been on the run, police staff investigating the case said.
Sagar, who hails originally from a place near Gwalior district was last arrested in 2003-04 in Gwalior in a similar racket case. tnn
Rupendra Singh, who hails from Hamirpur district of UP, and is one of the eight arrested youths taken on police remand on Monday, is said to be long indulgent in such racket in UP.
Presently doing a course in veterinary sciences in Mhow, Singh is believed to have been a critical part of gang of youths who acted as solvers in examinations for other candidates in Bundelkhand region of UP, sources said.
