Pre-marked question papers trigger protest by candidates

Indore: Around 150 candidates staged a protest at Kamla Nehru Higher Secondary School in Bhopal after allegedly receiving pre-used question booklets during the 2026 State Eligibility Test (SET), reports Litha Achari. A major procedural failure disrupted the State Eligibility Test 2026 MPPSC at Kamla Nehru Higher Secondary School in Bhopal after nearly 150 candidates were allegedly given question booklets that appeared already used. Examinees claimed several copies carried tick marks, rough work, and even pre-written names and roll numbers. Suspecting a leak or serious mishandling, candidates staged a protest outside the centre, prompting police presence. However, MPPSC refuted the allegations and maintained that no paper leak occurred. Dr R Panchbhai, OSD, MPPSC, said, "A serial number mix-up led to previously used booklets being distributed and later replaced with fresh copies, and extra time was given to these students to complete the exam."
Meanwhile,o ver 28,000 candidates appeared for the 2026 State Eligibility Test (SET) in Indore on Sunday, marking a 75% turnout at around 100 exam centres. Conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. The examination was organised at 309 centres, with over 1.03 lakh candidates appearing out of 1.46 lakh registered applicants. In Ujjain, six candidates were caught using smartwatches and other electronic devices.
