Police arrest sub-inspector's hubby for Rs 20 lakh fraud; accused cop goes missing

Mandsaur police have arrested Tarun Sharma, the husband of a sub-inspector, from Dewas for duping youngsters of Rs 20 lakh on the pretext of providing a job, police said.

INDORE: Mandsaur police have arrested Tarun Sharma, the husband of a sub-inspector, from Dewas for duping youngsters of Rs 20 lakh on the pretext of providing a job, police said.
Sharma along with her wife SI Indu Evane, posted in Shamgarh police station, were accused of duping youngsters on job lure, alleged Rinkesh, 22, resident of Batuni village.
The police acting on complaint booked the husband-wife duo under section 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine a forged) of IPC.

Since then, the accused husband-wife were absconding, police said.
Shamgarh, police station in-charge, Kamlesh Prajapati said, "Accused husband-wife duped couple of youngsters cumulatively for Rs 20 lakh on pretext of providing them a job in post office."
"The police on a complaint arrested her husband from Dewas. The woman SI is still absconding. The investigations are on, and she will be arrested very soon," added Prajapati.
