INDORE: The complaint registering system, Twarit, which was started by the electricity department for industrialists of Pithampur, has received over 150 complaints related to power outages and breakdown since its launch on October 18 and 99 per cent of them were resolved in an hour.
A superintendent engineer with the Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd.
(MPPKVVCL) said, "Most of the complaints received were from individual customers. They were mostly related to faults along service lines, loose contacts of wires and blown fuses."
The official said that one of the biggest benefits of the helpline is that we are committed to dispose each and every complaint within two hours.
The 24/7 call centre has a four digit number, 1912, and calls are answered by an operator, who after locating the fault intimates the in-charge line-man.
Puneet Gupta, managing director of an auto components manufacturing unit in Pithampur said, "The main problem in the area is poor maintenance, which leads to power outages. However, the power situation has improved in the last few months."
Industrialists said that until a few months ago, power breakdowns would occur three to four times a day, varying between a few minutes to two to three hours. But the situation has improved.
Twarit is already functional in Indore, Dewas, Bhuranpur and Ujjain, with Pithampur being the fifth and latest addition.
