INDORE
: A resident of city has filed a
petition
in Supreme Court demanding constitution of an expert committee with executive powers to handle Covid-19 situation, increasing testing capacities in state, providing basic health facilities and releasing genuine information about the disease. Petitioner
Chinmay Mishra, president of
Madhya Pradesh Sarvoday Mandal
, filed the petition in apex court.
The major cities including
Bhopal
and Indore are worst affected cities in the state as well as the country. Not only this, Indore- the finance capital is having the worst mortality rate in the country, said the petitioner.
But, in this time of global health emergency, state government didn’t have any proper administrative structure nor a concrete plan and system to tackle the crisis. The state doesn’t have any expert committee and does dependent on task force comprise political leaders, submitted the petitioner.
The state government didn’t have proper laboratory facilities for testing
coronavirus, sufficient kits even in red zone districts like Indore, Ujjain and Bhopal leading to less testing putting life of general public at risk, submitted the petitioner.
