Training Wing (CTW) of Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) was held on Tuesday.

MCTE Commandant and Corps of Signals Colonel Commandant Lt Gen Milind N Bhurke presided over the ceremony. The event marked culmination of three years of training of Gentlemen Cadets and their transformation into Indian Army officers.

CRW Commander Col Aniruddh Sakhre shed light on the course after which MCTE BGS Brig Deepak Tyagi gave certificates to passing out cadets. Thereafter, Lt Gen Bhurke awarded achievers of the course with medals, trophies and banners. Addressing the cadets, Bhurke reminded them of what nation expects from them, especially in view of rapid technological advancements, prevailing counter insurgency environment. He also said that since beginning of CTW, 848 cadets had become officers of the Army. Of them, five have been awarded with Shaurya Chakra, while 21 have been awarded with Sena Medal.

Wing Cadet Captain Kulvinder Singh was recipient of GOC-in-C Army Training Command (ARTRAC) gold medal and a trophy for standing first in overall order of merit. Platoon Cadet Captain Kunwar Vikram Singh received GOC-in-C ARTRAC silver medal, while bronze medal was received by Devanshu Singh. Pratap Platoon won GOC-in-C ARTRAC banner for standing first among the four Platoons.

Training Academy (OTA) Gaya for passing out parade before getting commissioned as officers in the Army on June 8.
