Passenger satisfaction up, Indore airport bags 3rd spot in ASQ Survey 2025
Indore: Air travellers' satisfaction with the services and facilities at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar international airport seems to have gone up significantly. For, the airport has secured 3rd position nationally among airports operated by Airports Authority of India in Airports Council International - Airport Service Quality (ACI-ASQ) Survey 2025.
The airport achieved an overall score of 4.92 last year, marking a rise of 0.10 points from the 4.82 score recorded in 2024. Notably, Indore is the only airport in Madhya Pradesh included in the list of 16 airports featured in the survey. This ranking is based on feedback from passengers across various parameters, including signage to access the terminal, value for money of the selected mode of transport (including parking facilities), ease of finding check-in area, waiting time at check-in (including baggage drop, if applicable), courtesy and helpfulness of staff in the check-in area, ease of going through security screening and waiting time there, value for money of restaurants/bars/cafés, service quality, cleanliness, security measures, staff behaviour, and punctuality of operations."Being MP's largest airport, it's obvious for the authority to meet all set parameters of customer satisfaction. The services seem to have improved at Indore airport and thus, it could be a reason of its improved ranking," Advocate Manish Nandwal, a frequent traveller, told TOI.Leena Sharma, project manager at an IT company, however expressed need for improvement at Indore airport. "I travel to different countries and facilities there are very good. The airport in Indore, which is country's cleanest city, can also compete with them by further improving the services," she said. The current ranking marks a recovery for the airport, which had slipped to the 10th position in 2024. Previously, Indore secured the 1st position in 2023 with 4.91 points and the 2nd position in 2022 with 4.94 points. While Pune and Goa secured the 1st and 2nd ranks respectively, Indore Airport management remains focused on reclaiming the top spot.Airport director Sunil Maggirwar said that major upgrades were currently underway at the airport. "The runway is expected to be ready by March 31, which will allow us to resume night operations," Maggirwar said, adding that the renovation of the old terminal is expected to be completed by March 15, pending necessary environmental and fire safety clearances, along with some other clearances. The opening of the old terminal is anticipated to further enhance passenger facilities.TableTop-performers| Rank | Airport Name | ASQ Score (out of 5) || 1 | Pune | 4.94 || 2 | Goa | 4.93 || 3 | Indore | 4.92 || 4 | Varanasi | 4.91 || 5 | Kolkata | 4.90 || 6 | Chennai | 4.90 || 7 | Dehradun | 4.88 || 8 | Raipur | 4.86 || 9 | Trichy | 4.85 || 10 | Bhubaneswar | 4.85(Based on consolidated data from ACI ASQ Survey 2025)
