Now, mobile app for 108 ambulance service
INDORE: You will be able to track ambulance soon as the dial 108 service is going to launch a smartphone application that will give live updates of the allotted vehicle.
Sources said the app is ready and would be launched once approved by the company.
The application will also provide details of the nearby hospital and one-click notifier service. The app will connect the user to the ambulance and provide its details.
Once the ambulance is allotted, a user can track it and it will also show information on nearby hospitals. In case if the patient has to book the ambulance, one click notifier will enable him/her to send an emergency message to family members, friends and it will share user’s live location to them. “The app will enable ambulance driver to know patient’s exact GPS location and health condition. The objective of the app is to help citizens in distress to avail emergency care more efficiently. It is the first of its kind integrated emergency notification app,” said a company official. The name of the app is yet to be finalised and it will be launched in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Bihar.
The app was to be launched on August 15 but due to some technical issue and government policies, it was delayed. Dial 108 service official Gunjan Mehra said, “The app is yet to be launched. Once it gets an official approval it will be launched across the country.”
