Non-CUET courses registration date may be extended

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is considering extending registration of deadline for its non-CUET courses due to a low number of registrations received so far. The university had initially announced June 3 as the last date for registration, but it seems that students are showing a lack of interest in these courses unlike the courses offered through Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
The non-CUET courses, consisting of nearly 80 programmes with an intake of approximately 2900 seats, have received a meagre 763 applications so far.
Despite the deadline for applying to non-CUET courses being just around the corner, the university does not anticipate a significant surge in applications. Consequently, it is contemplating to extend the last date for registration for non-CUET courses, which include postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, and certificate programs.
The non-CUET admission cell coordinator Maya Ingle said, “We will check the status of registrations on Thursday after which we may extend the deadline for admission in non-CUET courses by a week or so. The final decision regarding this matter will be made after consultation with vice-chancellor on Thursday.”
When asked about the low number of registrations, she added “The state board results have been announced recently, students need time to think and choose the course. I am hopeful of witnessing more registrations during the last two days.” tnn
