Nikhil Patwardhan will make his come-back as an umpire after a decade as
Akshay Totrey
makes his debut as umpire in the IPL 2022 league matches.
Besides Nitin Menon,
Patwardhan
and Totrey from
Madhya Pradesh
will be umpiring during the matches. The representation for IPL from Madhya Pradesh has been quite well with four players and three match officials, CEO of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA),
Rohit Pandit
told TOI. “Umpiring is important limb of the game and these young umpires getting an opportunity in the IPL shows that they have been performing well in the domestic circuit,” he added.
Nitin Menon will have nine matches as Umpire on field and six matches as third umpire, Patwardhan has been deployed on field for six matches and as a fourth umpire for six matches.
