INDORE: The recently constituted
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) body seems to have upset some of the Congress leaders from the Malwa and Nimar region. A few senior leaders from the region, who aspired for greater roles in the organisation and were ignored, are now planning to register their protest.
Party insiders claim that the disgruntled leaders have decided to register their protest against the state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria.
Supporters of former union minister of state Arun Yadav, MPs Premchand Guddu and Sajjan Singh Verma, and senior leader Mahesh Joshi feel ignored in the constitution of the new PCC body. Joshi's nephew Ashwin Joshi, three time MLA from Indore, too couldn't get a place in the new body.
Likewise, Yadav is reportedly angry as his bete noire Ravi Joshi has been appointed as the state general secretary. Moreover, some of the Congress leaders from the region have not been accommodated in the committee.
Guddu is likely to make the issue a prestige point as the party had on many occasions opted to choose candidate of his choice for Ujjain contrary to the wishes of the central ministers. He always had his way in the past.
Now these leaders, according to the tongue wagging in the party, are coming together to lodge their protest against the formation of the Working Committee with the party central leadership. The leaders feel that loyalty to the party has been overlooked and the selections were based on personal likings of leaders.
