Indore: Professor Suhas Joshi, the new director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-I) took charge on Monday.
A mechanical engineering professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay since 2009, Professor Joshi took over the charge from the officiating director Professor Neelesh Kumar Jain. Professor Joshi, a Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations at IIT Bombay, will be the second regular director of IIT-I since the institute’s first director Professor Pradeep Mathur relinquished his term in Dec 2019.

Prof Joshi said “With great humility, I take over as director. The Institute has done exceedingly well in the last 13 years. Be it research, academics, welfare, outreach, global presence, all arenas have been well taken care of. I acknowledge the able leadership and vision of my predecessors and would like to take it forward.” TNN
