INDORE: Taking a strong exception to two-finger test on a Singrauli minor rape survivor in a moving bus, National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday decided to take up the issue with health ministry. "The doctors treated the girl inhumanly. The two-finger test to check if the girl was virgin was irrelevant. I will write a letter to the health minister about the incident demanding appropriate action," NCW member Charu WaliKhanna said.

She was in the city to inspect the functioning of Indore police's women cell.
A 13-year-old girl was raped on Monday in a moving bus.
Meanwhile, talking about Nirbhaya case, a member of the NCW held the society responsible for turning the minor, one of the six accused, into a sinner. "We need to look into the cause which led him to become an animal," she said adding that the minor (juvenile) was disowned by his family members and society, turning him into a rapist.
Earlier, Khanna carried out inspection at the women cell of Indore police to inform women cops about helpline numbers.
"There have been complaints that the cops have not been trained on attending the aggrieved callers on the helpline number 1091," she said adding that she also gave tips to cops on dealing with complainants at the cell. Khanna said, "We will also provide ambulance and shelter home to the victims but before that we wanted to ensure that the manpower at the cell was competent in handling the people."
