More women to be trained to boost tourism

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department has formed four clusters in the Indore region to train women for different tourism-related activities. These clusters will help to attract more women tourists to the state and create jobs for females in the sectors. The project Safe Tourism Destination of Women's has been launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, and manoj singh, director skill, at MP Tourism Board said that skill training has started at over 40 locations in the state. 24 tourist places have been clubbed to make a cluster, but alirajpur barwani and jhabua are standalone clusters due to their rich culture, food, and tradition. A large team of women workforce will be created in alirajpur barwani and jhabua to assist women travellers. These women will be trained as hotel assistance staff guides translators cab and erickshaw drivers home stay hosts and tour managers among other activities to enhance the travel experience of women travellers.

Indore: To encourage participation of women in various tour and travel activities, tourism department has formed 20 clusters across the state of which four are in the Indore region to train women for different tourism activities like skill training, guides, tour operators and cab drivers.
The four clusters developed by the tourism department in the Indore region have come up in – Alirajpur, Barwani, Jhabua and one cluster combining Dhar, Bagh, Mandu and Maheswar.

With an aim to attract more women tourists to the state and create jobs for females in the sectors, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has launched a project ‘Safe Tourism Destination of Women’ in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Manoj Singh, director, skill at Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board at MP Tourism Board said, “Skill training has started at over 40 locations in the state. We have targeted all major tourist places where teams of women can be created to attract women travellers.”
Singh said, 2-4 tourist places have been clubbed to make a cluster but Alirajpur, Barwani and Jhabua are standalone clusters due to its rich culture, food and tradition.
He said a large team of women workforce will be created in Alirajpur, Barwani and Jhabua to assist women travellers. These women will be trained as hotel assistance staff, guides, translators, cab and e-rickshaw drivers, home stay hosts and tour managers among other activities to enhance the travel experience of women travellers.
