Indore: Indore district administration in the weekly public hearing on Tuesday addressed issues concerning more than 500 applicants and resolved many of the pleas on the spot. The weekly public hearing started by 11am and lasted till 5pm, in which more than 500 applicants approached the senior administrative officials including collector Ilayaraja T with their problems and demands.
The senior administrative officials gave a patient hearing to the pleas of every applicant and tried to resolve many of them, mostly related to colonizers allegedly duping the property buyers, financial, medical, and other assistance along with demands for BPL ration and Ayushman card.
In one of the cases, one 80-year-old Savitri Devi approached the collector and informed him about her poor financial condition. According to the applicant, she was living in a rented flat of an IMC-developed apartment, which was allotted to her landlord under PMAY scheme, and was dependent on switching work to feed herself. To this, the collector instructed IMC officials to launch a probe, if the landlord had illegally rented the flat and if this would be the case, the ‘ownership’ of the flat to be transferred to the elderly woman (as she was eligible for it). Besides, the collector also allotted a sewing machine to the applicant to help her earn a livelihood. TNN
