Indore: A rape case has been registered in Dhar after doctors discovered that a 16-year-old girl was seven months pregnant during a medical examination, police said on Tuesday.The case came to light when the teenager's health deteriorated and her family rushed her to a hospital. During the examination, doctors confirmed that she was in an advanced stage of pregnancy.

Shocked by the revelation, the family approached police, following which the case under the POCSO Act was registered.The girl, a class 10 student at a private school, told police that she came into contact with the accused over a year ago and they started talking. The accused used to frequent her home and school.After a few weeks, he asked her to go for a drive with him, where he forced himself on her. The minor said the accused took her with him on 2 separate occasions to a secluded location, where she was raped. She was then dropped back at her home. Recently, she was taken to the hospital by her family members after she felt unwell and her condition deteriorated. They were shocked to learn that she was pregnant.A police officer said a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the POCSO Act, and further investigations were under way. He said the accused will be arrested at the earliest.
