Man held with cannabis worth Rs 1 lakh

Indore: Tejaji Nagar police arrested a man allegedly with 5.082 kg of cannabis valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh on Monday.He was taken into custody after the arrest of a local youth who revealed that the narcotics were being supplied from Udainagar in Dewas district.A police team told the youth to place a fake order for five kilograms of cannabis. A delivery location and time were fixed and police cordoned off the area in anticipation of the supplier's arrival. The suspect, 30-year-old Kaalu from Dewas district, arrived at the scene on a motorcycle. The police surrounded and arrested him. A case was registered against Kaalu."We aim to dismantle the broader distribution network and identify other buyers within Indore. Investigations are also underway to trace the original source of the illegal drugs in Indore and neighbouring Dewas region, Tejaji Nagar police station in-charge Devendra Markam said.
