Indore: A man was arrested and two juveniles were detained allegedly for attacking a youth with a knife and stones after a dispute over unpaid money in Tilak Nagar area.
The incident took place on April 6 in Sanvid Nagar near Kanadia Road. Complainant, 26-year-old Pintu Panchal told investigators that he was present in the locality when three youths arrived on a motorcycle and began abusing Durgesh Chauhan over an old dispute linked to pending dues. When Chauhan objected, the situation escalated quickly.
The main accused, Sahil Kaithwas, allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked Chauhan, while the two juveniles accompanying him picked up stones and joined in the assault. The trio also issued threats before fleeing the spot, police said.
A case was registered at Tilak Nagar police station and teams were deployed to track down the suspects. Acting on inputs, police located and apprehended the accused from the Badi Gwaltoli area. The weapon used in the attack was also seized.
During the chase, Sahil allegedly tried to evade arrest by jumping over a boundary wall but sustained a leg injury.
He was later taken to MY Hospital for treatment.
Police said the juveniles' guardians were called to the station and counselled and preventive action was initiated against them. Officials maintained that strict action is being taken in cases involving violent street crimes, particularly those involving weapons and public threats.
