Man dies after slipping while boarding moving train at Ratlam station

Indore: A 38-year-old man was crushed to death when he slipped while attempting to board a moving train at Ratlam railway station.The accident, captured on a CCTV camera, occurred on Friday around 2.30 pm on platform number 4. The victim, identified as Daud, originally from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and currently residing in Thane, Maharashtra, was present on the platform before the train arrived.According to GRP station in-charge Sohanlal Patidar, Golden Temple Mail Express had reached the platform and had begun to move when Daud tried to board it. During the attempt, his foot slipped, leaving him trapped between the platform and the moving train. He was dragged along and pulled under the wheels, leading to his body being severed into two parts on the spot.Panic spread on the platform following the accident. The train moved ahead before railway staff and police could retrieve the body from the tracks.Police said a bag found at the spot helped establish the victim's identity. An Aadhaar card and a mobile phone were recovered from the bag, based on which his identity was confirmed and family members were informed.GRP officials added that no train ticket was found during the search of his belongings, raising questions about whether he was an authorised passenger. The victim's brother reached Ratlam on Saturday morning. After postmortem examination at the medical college, the body was handed over to the family.
