Mhow: Tension gripped Ambachandan village in Mhow tehsil on Sunday evening after a group of people attacked house of a medical shop owner following an incident involving a married woman at a resort near Patalpani waterfall.
According to Badgonda police, the incident came to light after information was received about a dispute at a resort on Patalpani road. On reaching the spot, the police found a man, identified as Sayeed Khan, surrounded by a group of people, while a woman was also present there. Both were taken to the police station for questioning.
Badgonda police station in-charge Prakash Waskale said that the woman alleged that she had been forcibly taken to the resort by the accused.
"On complaint of the woman, police have registered a case against Sayeed Khan (a quack) under sections related to rape, criminal intimidation and provisions of MP Religious Freedom Act. He has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court," Waskale said.
According to the complaint, the woman, who is married and has three children, alleged that she had gone to the accused's ‘clinic' for a medical examination a few days ago, where he allegedly administered her a sedative and raped her. She further alleged that the accused recorded obscene photographs and videos and later began blackmailing her.
Police said that the woman claimed the accused called her to the resort on Sunday and again assaulted her. Additional personnel were deployed in the area to prevent any further escalation, and the situation was being closely monitored.
