Man arrested in Ujjain for social media post

Ujjain: A middle-aged man was arrested on Monday for circulating statements conducive to public mischief by uploading a controversial social media post about the recent Pahalgam attack.Nasir Ali, son of Zakir Ali, 40, was arrested by the Mahakal police station following a complaint by a Hindu organisation. Police station in-charge Narendra Bahadur Singh Parihar said that Nasir Ali, a resident near the Topkhana Hari Mosque, posted the controversial video on Facebook two days ago.The video mentioned the Prime Minister and made allegations against the BJP. Members of a Hindu organisation objected after viewing it and filed a complaint.The police registered a case against the accused under BzNS sections 353 (1), 3 (5), and section 151. The accused was arrested, and his mobile phone was confiscated.Since the charges are bailable, the accused was presented before the SDM under preventive sections.
