Indore: Industrial Area Police of Dewas on Monday said they arrested a man for allegedly spreading false rumours regarding child lifting gangs.
The accused, identified as 35-year-old Arjun Malviya, a resident of Prahlad Nagar Bawadiya, reportedly created panic by circulating baseless information about active kidnappers in the area. According to Dewas Police, Arjun did not stop at spreading rumours; he also harassed passers-by by stopping them under the suspicion of being "child thieves", posing a serious threat to public order.

Following an investigation led by TI Shashikant Chaurasia, the police confirmed the reports and took Arjun into custody. He was booked under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The accused was presented before the SDM Court and subsequently sent to jail.
Dewas police appealed to the public not to believe or share unverified messages. They urged citizens to call "Dial 112" instead of taking the law into their own hands.
