Indore: The cyber cell of Indore police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly duping a businessman by posing as an official from GST (goods and service tax) department.
“The accused Prakash Verma (44), a resident of Dewas, was caught from a rented apartment in Vijay Nagar area on Saturday night,” Cyber Cell SP Jitendra Singh said.
Singh said that the accused had in August 2020, approached a businessman by posing as a GST official and duped him of Rs97,500 on pretext of getting his GST registration.

sections 419, and 420, along with relevant sections of IT Act was registered against him. The police also recovered a laptop, mobile phone and multiple sim cards from his possession. TNN
