Indore: The cyber cell of Indore police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly duping a businessman by posing as an official from GST (goods and service tax) department.

Prakash Verma (44), a resident of Dewas, was caught from a rented apartment in Vijay Nagar area on Saturday night,” Cyber Cell SP
Jitendra Singh said.
Singh said that the accused had in August 2020, approached a businessman by posing as a GST official and duped him of Rs97,500 on pretext of getting his GST registration.
A class 12 pass-out,
Verma
had been absconding for more than a year. A case under
IPC
sections 419, and 420, along with relevant sections of IT Act was registered against him. The police also recovered a laptop, mobile phone and multiple sim cards from his possession. TNN
