Mahakal temple Ofct 4 Mahakal temple likely to have e-charging lockers
Ujjain: Visitors to Mahakaleshwar Temple will soon be able to charge their mobile phones in the e-charging
Rs10 will be charged against providing the facility for an hour. The lockers have been put on a display at Simhastha Mela office for the last 15 days for proof of concept. Officials, who take part in meeting at the office, keep their mobile phones in the e-charging lockers to test their utility.
Senior officials are taking reviews of staff and general public visiting the office for various purposes and using the lockers to charge their phones. A number of people have given positive response on the utility of the unit. A proposal in this regard was sent to Ujjain Smart City company and the project will be taken on public private participation (PPP). “Discussions over installing the lockers on the temple premises were initiated with collector and president of Mahakaleshwar Mandir Prabandhan Samiti. Instructions to test utility and technology of the lockers have issued for another 15 days. The temple committee will decide on installation of the lockers on the premises only after this,” said Ujjain Smart City CEO Awdesh Sharma.
Sharma said that the lockers will be tested from security point of view by police. Further steps will depend on cyber cell’s review.
“Users will have to pay Rs 10 for the lockers. Arrangement to keep four to five mobiles will be made in the lockers since devotees visit the temple with family,” said Sharma. The lockers are expected to be installed under the ramp to be developed on the back side of the temple. Over 20 lockers would be installed.
