INDORE: A bus with a polling party on board was attacked near Jhabua on Wednesday. An official was injured in the incident and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred late in the evening. The bus (MP 45 P 0207) was on its way from Bori to Para carrying polling party No. 346 (Ratanpura) and other polling parties.
At Kadwadudhal village, a stone was thrown at the bus shattering a window.
Shards of broken glass hit assistant returning officer Ramchandra Machar injuring him.
The Bori village falls under the Jhabua constituency. However, in revenue records the village falls in Alirajpur district. “The person who had pelted stones at the bus has been arrested. He pelted the stone under the influence of alcohol and had nothing to do with the election process. The injured polling officer was discharged from the hospital on the same day,” Ashish Saxena, Jhabua collector said. However, no case has been registered by the police in the matter so far.
