The victim,

Nilesh

, a resident of

Banediya village

, lodged a complaint against his wife at

Depalpur police station

.

He told police that he was unable to get any girl for marriage. So he sought help of a broker Arjun, who promised to get him a bride. He also paid Rs 80,000 to Arjun for it. Arjun introduced him to one Sapna, who was living in

Gauri Nagar

.

After few meetings, Nilesh decided to marry Sapna. Sapna told him that she was married to one Babu Singh, who died after a few months of their marriage and she did not have any children.

The duo married in court on July 23. On the second day, the woman left Nilesh’s house by saying that her mother was ill and she wanted to meet her. After few days when Sapna did not return, Nilesh went to her house in Gauri Nagar. But he was told that she had left the house. The neighbours told him that she lived with a family and also had children.

Smelling something fishy, Nilesh looked for jewellery and cash at his house only to find them missing. He then approached Depalpur police.
