Lokayukta raids patwari in Ujjain

UJJAIN: Lokayukta Police, Ujjain raided the residential premises of a patwari, Sanjay Panchal, at Ujjain on Tuesday and claimed to have unearthed assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
Lokayukta sources said separate teams simultaneously descended at Indore Nagar situated house of Panchal in Ujjain and at Mahidpur. Inspector Basant Shrivastava said papers relating to agriculture land of over 45 bigha at village Dhaneria, investments in real estate in 2007, insurance policies, bank account papers have been recovered besides Rs 75,000 cash and gold ornaments.
Panchal was posted at halka no 56 under the Mahidpur tehsil but additional charge of two other areas was also given to him. His overall assets is likely to cross Rs two crore claimed sources adding that the Lokayukta cops were keeping an eye on him for the past two months.
