Khudel murder: Woman accused guided auto driver to well for dumping body

to the spot where they dumped the 24-year-old woman’s body and fled, said police

Body of the woman Sapna, wife of Bhupendra Lodhi, was found in a well stuffed in an iron suitcase two days ago.

Lodhi, who works as a welding mechanic in a private company, told police that he had gone to their village to bring back children and Sapna was alone in their rented house in Govind Nagar. She spoke to him till June 25, but, after a while her phone was switched off. On June 26, when he returned, he found that the entire house was ransacked and jewellery worth lakhs and Rs 50,000 was missing. Bhupendra approached police and lodged a missing complaint.

During investigation, cops learnt that the couple, Sunil

Dhanuka

and his wife Babita, who lived in a flat on ground floor of the house, was also missing after the incident. Police arrested Sunil’s brother Bunty.

Bunty told police that he was called to the spot by his brother and his wife. They told him that they had to take ‘pooja’ material in the suitcase to immerse in a well.

“Bunty said that Babita guided them towards the well in Kampel village and she even gave all the directions,” said investigating officer R Sikarwar.

Police were also questioning the auto driver. Sunil and Babita, who are from Kulkarni Ka Bhatta area, and had been living in a rented apartment in Banganga area, are still on run, cops said.

“We are looking out for the accused and they will be arrested at the earliest,” Sikarwar said.
