Indore: Kanadia police arrested a member of the notorious Satpal Fauji gang from Gurgaon in Haryana on Monday.
The suspect, 33-year-old Parmender Singh, was on the run for over a year. He was wanted in four major thefts in Indore. To dodge his arrest, he remained mobile across Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana. Police said he had stopped using a mobile phone for eight months to avoid digital tracking.
Acting on a tip-off that Singh was hiding in Kasan village near Manesar, Kanadia police station in-charge Saharsh Yadav dispatched a team to Haryana. For three days, the team maintained a covert vigil, using drone cameras to monitor the suspect's movements around his house. Once his presence was confirmed, the police launched a raid and arrested him.
Police also seized stolen gold and silver jewellery along with a car used in the crimes. The total value of the recovered goods was estimated to be Rs 25 lakh.
"Singh, who faces dozens of charges across various states, is currently being interrogated regarding other unsolved cases" Yadav said.
