Indore paddlers shine in state tourney
Indore: City lads Anusha Kutumbale and Pankaj Vishwakarma emerged victorious in first Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis State Ranking Tournament held at Abhay Prashal indoor stadium on Sunday.
The three-day tournament concluded on Sunday with thrilling finals matches in both men’s and women’s categories.
In an intense battle, Anusha Kutumble from Indore outplayed Gwalior’s Himani Chaturvedi, securing a commanding 4-1 victory in the women’s category finals.

Pankaj Vishwakarma played against Ansh Goyal, both representing Indore, in the men’s category finals. Pankaj emerged triumphant with a resounding 4-0 win.
In the boys’ under-19 category, Anuj Soni from Indore defeated Vishesh Rastogi, also from Indore, with a decisive 3-0 score line. Parmi Nagdev from Bhopal triumphed over Pavi Pardesi from Indore with a 3-1 win in the girls’ under 19 age category finals.
The younger participants showcased their skills as well. Zakiya Sultan from Indore claimed victory in the girls’ under 11 age category, defeating Mahi Rajput from Sagar with a dominant 3-0 win. In the under 13 age category, Sagar’s Aaradhya Rajput emerged victorious over Indore’s Advika Agrawal, securing a 3-0 triumph.
Daksh Mishra from Shahdol showcased his talent in the boys’ singles finals of the under 11 age category, defeating
Sameer Sayyed from Indore with a convincing 3-0 victory. In the under 12 age category, Mradul Joshi from Indore outplayed Atharva Singh, also from Indore, with a flawless 3-0 win. Rhythm Gadia triumphed over Lakshya Ojha, both from Indore, with a 3-1 victory in the under 15 age category finals.
The winners were honoured by MP Shankar Lalwani and Om Soni, Vice President of the MP Olympic Association, in a grand award ceremony, celebrating the exceptional talent displayed throughout the tournament.
