Indore Municipal Corporation honours advance tax-payers

INDORE: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) distributed prizes to advance tax-payers who won the lucky draw at a function here on Tuesday. The winner of the first prize- an Alto car- was handed over the keys while the other winners were given away the prizes that included scooters, LED TVs, micro oven, laptops and others.
Civic officials said that the first prize winner would be handed over the car after verification of his documents.
In the lucky draw plot no. 3540 at E-sector of Sudama Nagar which was registered in the name of Jagdish Chouhan in IMC records won the first prize- car. Later it found that Jagdish Chouhan had died a few years and ago her wife had sold the property to one Sudip Singh Dabar in March 2013.
It was Sudip who had paid the pending property tax over the property and also paid advance tax of Rs 800 for his property, which won first prize. But in IMC records property the property is still in name of its previous owner Jagdish Chouhan. IMC secretary Abhay Rajangaokar said Sudip was given key of the car at the function and he has been asked to produce all the documents. After verifying the documents and completing the formalities Sudip will be given the car in a month's time.
He said Sudip has the registry document of property and also tax receipt that he had paid for the said property. Now property tax account will be transferred to his name after looking into the documents. After finishing all formalities and address objection if any, the IMC will hand him the car.
Seema Upadhaya of Devi Ahilya Marg, Suresh Parki of Umesh Nagar and Gopal Gangrade of Sudama Nagar got scooter as second prize.
Blue Star Builder of South Tukoganj, Sashi Kishore of Vandana Nagar and Shashikant Deshpande of Pragati Nagar got LED TVs as third prize. Urmila Singh of Shreeji Vatika and Mukesh Jayantilal of Sitapatk Colony got laptops as third prize.
GSITS College and Arun Singh of Raghuvanshi Colony got washing machines as second prize while Kartar Singh of Anup Nagar and Pannalal Bhagroda of Tilak Nagar got microwave oven as third prize.
