INDORE: Over 1000 people with cough and cold symptoms were found during the ongoing door-to-door survey in the city.
However, during the surveys, only 139 new Covid positive cases were found after testing 4,780 samples from May 20 to June 23. The positivity rate during the period remained at 2.9%.
The district administration has again started door-to-door survey on June 19 for tracing, isolating the persons with symptoms similar to Covid-19.

Dr Anil Dongre, in charge of district screening team, said, “The teams are conducting intense surveys in 24 containment areas along with others. But, people with symptoms similar to Covid-19 are mostly found in those areas.” The areas include Khajrana, Malwa Mill, Pardeshipura, Chandan Nagar, Mushakhedi and others.
The administration has formed teams of 64 doctors, 1214 teachers, 21 ANM, 137 Asha workers and 762 Anganwadi workers to conduct survey in urban parts of the city under 32 police stations. Each team got a target of surveying about 50 houses in a day.
There are around five lakh households in the city.
The survey will begin in rural part too. The team is also trying to trace the person with comorbid conditions. According to records of district health, 7,27,820 families were surveyed till date in all the surveys. Of them, 9898 were found with cough and cold symptoms, 2609 with breathing problems, 46,207 with comorbidities and around 1700 were tested positive till date. indo
