INDORE: Indore gym owners association has come up with a concrete plan to open gyms in city from June. The association will seek formal permission, too, to open gyms by next month.
On Sunday, the association members conducted a meeting via video conference to come up with guidelines to open gyms. Over 130 gym owners of the city attended the conference.
They have decided to open for longer hours to avoid crowd.
"Gyms would open for whole day from 6am till 10pm so that there is no rush and members can come as per their convenience and comfort," the association secretary Manish Arya told TOI.
Floors of gyms and all machines have been suggested to be sanitised regularly by liquid disinfectants within a couple of hours. Members and staff will not be allowed to enter a gym without washing hand or using sanitiser at the entrance. Moreover, everyone will also be reminded by staff to wash hands again at least once during the workout as well, he added.
"We have also decided that temperature of members and staff should be checked before entering gym and medical history will also be checked before giving access to gym to anyon," said Arya.
Record of clients' temperature and medical history will also be maintained. Members will also be asked to bring sanitiser at gym.
All staff will always wear masks and at regular intervals sanitise their hands or wash them frequently, said the association president Sunil Ramchandani. "We will add all the other guidelines suggested by the administration as well," he added.
