Indore: Daly College students conduct eye check-ups of over 9000 people

conducted eye check-ups of over 9000 people of Hatod and Kampel village under the supervision of the eye specialists at a four day eye camp organized by the school.

After going through the demographic data of

Madhya Pradesh

government, for the 13th edition of the eye camp, the school selected the two villages.

“Population and poverty were the two main criteria for us to decide the venue for our camp,” said principal Neeraj Bedhotiya.

Students of Class nine and 11 who did the check up with the help of five DC staff members, and five eye specialists of Choithram Netralaya were selected for the task after a screening test. Before winter vacation, students were informed about the camp and 80 students had shown interest in it. These students also underwent a day-long training where they were taught about the eye check-up, balanced diet to stay healthy and identification of

cataract

as well. Out of 9724 people of Hatod and Kampel village who had undergone the eye tests, 8065 got detected with power and were given spectacles.
