Indore: In a proactive move to secure the traditional Rangpanchami Gair procession route, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) launched a specialised drive on Tuesday to remove hazardous and low-hanging cables.
"The move aims to eliminate physical obstructions and ensure a seamless celebration for the lakhs of participants expected to attend the historic event," IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal said, adding that the first phase of the operation focused on the high-traffic stretch between Vijay Chat House square and Sarafa police station. Under the supervision of sub-engineer Prince Bhardwaj and his team from Zone 2, authorities identified multiple locations, where disorganised wires and cables were hanging low enough to pose a risk to the procession.
